I have been quite active on internet/social media from 2005 until 2015. As a professor MultiMedia Design I felt the urgency to set an example and take students on a transmedia StoryDoing journey crossing the boundaries of traditional education. I stopped this practice of ‘open and transparent communication’ on learning and teaching a few years ago, after I was ‘ordered’ by management to conform to – in my humble opinion – lesser standards of Communication & MultiMedia design. This ‘request’ came after I had a stroke where my ‘courage’ was profoundly tested. I gave up my battle with ‘the system’. I’m a coward.
Is this a new Beginning?
Since 2015 I’ve been writing more for myself, not so much as for an audience. I’m 62 now and have been advocating ‘ArtiVisual Intelligence’ for more than 6 years. Time for me to buckle up and really jump into new territory and use these new ai-tools as a portal to cross time and space to share my ‘personal stories’ packed with life-lessons for (younger) designers.
This podcast is ai-generated (by NotebookLM) based on the video ArtiVisual Intelligence – Lifting the veil. I made this video in 2020 as a reflection on my creative proces in the midst of my Master of Education in Arts.
It features an individual who struggled to conform to societal systems. He realized that these systems are inflexible, and instead of trying to change them, he chose to focus on his internal creative drive. This individual uses writing as a tool to tap into their unconscious mind and overcome his perfectionism. He describes his creative process as “letting go” and allowing his thoughts to flow freely. The speaker also touches on the impact of childhood experiences on their personality, particularly negative encounters with peer groups. He acknowledges that these experiences have shaped who he has become. The conversation concludes with the individual reflecting on his creative journey and the importance of self-expression.
